Trying out Blender

Alt text I had zero experience working with any 3-D modeling software when I posted my last post. As a challenge, I've started to learn Blender for 3-D modeling since my last post. If you ask me "why not just use TinkerCad?" the answer is that I would much prefer doing everything locally than through a cloud server which is centralized and your creation on it is not in your control entirely. Blender is a libre-software that is actively being developed through the community full of programming hobbyists.

Blender is a lot harder than I thought. But after a few hours of tinkering, I am finally able to finish my two 3-D creations: a donut and a pair of assemble pieces. However, one of the assemble pieces, the one that supposedly has holes for incoming extrusion of the other piece, does not seem to have that many holes as in the model when the model gets fed into the slicer program for final printing. This issue I something I am also working on now.

I hope I could create something more amazing with Blender because it is really awesome and provides a ton of cool features! Something like a superman model would be interesting(but a lot harder of course). I look forward to doing more modeling with Blender!
